I read this book cover to cover in about three hours. I just couldn't put it down. This is the equivalent of eating potato chips, you have to finish the whole thing in one sitting. Dexter is just such a strange character that you can't help but really like. Although parts of this book are quite graphic, it is not all in your face blood and gore. I think it would probably be best to read this in the series to get the whole back ground of the characters since each story builds on each other.
